Alia’s Men Lost APC Senatorial Tickets As Akume’s Loyalists Get Return Tickets
By John Tor, Makurdi
Benue State governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia’s loyalists who were announced winners of All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial and House of Representatives primary elections recently reportedly lost out to the loyalists of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume in the final list submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Multiple sources told DAILY GUIDE, that the latest development has caused panic among Alia’s APC camp in Benue.
Recall that, on May 3, 2026, Governor Alia and Akume had said they reconciled following a peace and reconciliation meeting they held to settle disagreements within the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the party’s primary and 2027 general elections.
Though, the aftermath of the reconciliation did not yield any tangible result as both camps still continue scheming against each other.
However, confirming the development, the Senator representing Benue North West senatorial District, Titus Zam, said the APC national secretariat handed over the return ticket to him.
The statement issued by Senator Zam on Monday reads, “God be the glory and to the Dynamic people of Benue North West senatorial District my deep gratitude.
“Dear friends,
On the 18th of June, APC held her party primaries for the senate ticket across the country. I was a contender and clearly won with the actual results supported by vedios and photos available for all and sundry to see, however confirmed reports from security sources, party agents and social media indicated that some election materials were being diverted, consequently fake results emerged therefrom announcing the person I evidently defeated as the winner.
According to Zam, “Armed with the genuine results from the field, supported by both digital and manual records that affirmed my victory, I petitioned the party’s national appeal committee for a review of those results fraudulently declared in Makurdi.
“It is my pleasure to report that the case has been decided in my favour, justice is done and I have been returned as duly elected flag bearer or candidate for the Benue North West senatorial District.
“All the processes and procedures to formalise my candidacy with the relevant electoral and security agencies are being done by the party at the headquarters.
The statement added, “I wish to commend the national chairman of APC, prof Nantawe, the president and Commander in chief, HE Sen Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR and my benefactor Sen Dr George Akume-SGF and all the good people of Benue North West senatorial District for ensuring that the right thing is done, not just to me but to the entire National Assembly members in Benue state.
“Meanwhile, with this development, I pledge to work harder for the victory of APC in all the elections in Benue state. The time to strengthen our loyalty to the party is now, the time to rework fractured relationships is now. The time to re- build is here!
With this information, I wish to plead that my supporters across the 7 LGAs should embrace peace, love and party solidarity.
To God be the Glory” Zam stated.

Adeleke Warns Tinubu: There Maybe Crisis If APC Rigs Me Out
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has warned President Bola Tinubu not to allow rigging the August 15 governorship election in the State or risk political violence as witnessed in 1983.
The Governor, who was addressing party supporters at Orita-Sabo in Olorunda local government area of Osun State on Monday, also said the President must wake up to his responsibility of protecting the people from police harassment.
According to him, the President is watching without concern, the political crisis in Osun being perpetrated by his party chieftains despite the fact that Accord has endorsed him as the 2027 Presidential candidate.
“Mr President, I want you to take note of my words, I m the Chief Security officer of Osun, you are a Yoruba man and Osun is Yorubaland, yet, your party chieftains are perpetrating political violence while you look the other way.
“Mr President, all we demand for is a free and fair election, if anybody try to do otherwise, the political crisis of 1983, when some people tried to rig Michael Ajasin in Ondo State out of power, may repeat itself again.
“Mr President call your people to order, call police chiefs to order, I am the governor here not any other person. Accord has already endorsed you as it candidate, why are suffering again”

APC 1 Million Votes Group Vows To Deliver Uba/Jerry In Southern Kaduna
A group known as APC One Million Solidarity Votes Movement, Southern Kaduna Zone, has vowed to campaign vigorously for the re-election of Governor Uba Sani and Jerry Adams to win 2027 polls.
Team leader of the Movement in Southern Kaduna, Nathaniel Joseph Bagudu, said the region is better positioned to play a decisive role in the outcome of the 2027 elections, expressing confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure overwhelming support across the area.
Addressing press conference in Kaduna on Monday, Bagudu said the event was organised to appreciate Governor Uba Sani for nominating the Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Comrade Jerry Adams, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
He described Adams’ emergence as a strategic decision that had generated widespread excitement across Southern Kaduna, arguing that the choice had significantly boosted the APC’s electoral prospects.
According to him, the nomination has “reduced about 60 per cent of the campaign work” for the party, as many residents have welcomed the decision and are already expressing their readiness to support the APC in the 2027 elections.
“Comrade Jerry Adams’ nomination has been widely accepted across Southern Kaduna. It is a strategic choice that has inspired confidence among our people. We believe the decision has already reduced about 60 per cent of the work ahead of us because many people have embraced the ticket,” he said.
Bagudu said the Office of the Deputy Governor offers a broader platform for public service than the chairmanship of KADIRS, adding that it presents greater opportunities to contribute to the development of Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State and Nigeria.
He noted that the transition would not affect the operations of KADIRS, stressing that the agency had been strengthened with competent personnel, institutional reforms and efficient systems capable of sustaining its performance.
Bagudu further disclosed that the movement had commenced an extensive grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at delivering one million votes for the party in Southern Kaduna.
He said mobilisation teams had already visited Jaba, Zangon Kataf and Jema’a Local Government Areas to encourage eligible residents, particularly young people, to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), adding that the exercise would be extended to other local government areas in the region.
Bagudu also commended Governor Uba Sani’s administration for what he described as inclusive governance and improvements in security, saying the achievements had strengthened public confidence in the government.

2027: APC North-West To Mobilise 7 States For Tinubu’s Re-election
The All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zone, on Thursday, said it concluded plans to embark on tour of the seven states in the region as part of efforts to mobilize support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and position the party for victory in the 2027 general elections.
The party said the decision was reached at a meeting of its zonal leadership held in Kaduna, where members deliberated on strategies to retain the APC’s dominance across the North-West and deliver what it described as the highest number of votes for President Tinubu in 2027.
The meeting took place at the party’s zonal headquarters in Kaduna, and was chaired by the APC North-West Zonal Secretary, Hon. Isah Sadiq Achida, in the absence of the National Vice Chairman of the zone, Hon. Garba Mohammed Datti, who was said to be away on an important assignment.
In a statement issued by the APC North-West Zonal Publicity Secretary, Malam Musa Mailafiya Mada, said the meeting focused on preparations for the 2027 polls and reviewed the political landscape across the region.
The party noted that the North-West remains a strategic political bloc for the APC, having delivered substantial votes to President Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, and expressed confidence that it would surpass that performance in 2027.
It also resolved to embark on a tour of the seven states in the zone to engage stakeholders and deliberate on practical measures needed to strengthen the party’s structures and achieve its electoral objectives.
The APC described the North-West’s political configuration as historic, noting that it is the first time since the creation of states in Nigeria that all seven states in the geopolitical zone are under the control of a single political party.
The zonal leadership expressed profound appreciation to Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for donating a utility vehicle to the party, describing the gesture as a demonstration of his commitment to strengthening the APC’s operations in the region.
It further acknowledged the unwavering support of all APC governors in the North-West, saying their contributions have remained the lifeline of the party’s zonal headquarters and have enabled it to function effectively.
The party also commended prominent APC leaders from the North-West, including Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, ministers and other political office holders appointed by President Tinubu, for their continued support for the administration and the party.
The statement urged them to sustain the momentum and extend greater support to the APC as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather pace.
