5,000 Displaced Zamfara Residents Returned Home After Bandit Attacks
No fewer than 5,000 displaced residents of Fegin Kanawa community in Zamfara State have returned home after months of fleeing relentless bandit attacks.
For months, Fegin Kanawa stood deserted as armed bandit attacks forced residents to abandon their homes, farms and livelihoods. The difficult terrain and fears of hidden explosives made the community one of the most dangerous areas in the state.
Determined to reverse the situation, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello, led a courageous mission to secure the area and restore public confidence.
The operation saw the deployment of police personnel and security assets, intensified patrols, and the securing of strategic locations to prevent further attacks and guarantee the safety of residents.
Emotional scenes greeted the return as families reunited with their homes and sources of livelihood. Grateful residents praised the police leadership for venturing into a terrain many considered a no-go area.
Community leaders described the development as a significant step toward restoring normalcy in Zamfara, saying the sustained police presence has renewed hope and encouraged residents to rebuild their lives.
