Kaduna Police Arraigned 24 Suspects Over Maraban Jos Mob Killing
The Kaduna State Police Command has arraigned twenty-four suspects before a Magistrate Court sitting at NDA Junction, Kaduna, in connection with the gruesome murder of a woman by a mob in Maraban Jos.
The suspects face charges of criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbance, mischief, destruction of public and police property, and culpable homicide.
The arraignment followed a comprehensive investigation into the incident of 21st June, 2026, where the victim was killed by a violent mob after being removed from police custody.
At the court session, the case was mentioned and adjourned to 21st July, 2026 for further hearing. The court ordered that all suspects be remanded in a correctional facility pending the determination of the case.
The Command strongly condemns mob action and jungle justice. We warn that anyone who takes the law into their own hands will be arrested and prosecuted according to the law.
Furthermore, over 100 additional suspects remain under investigation for their alleged roles in the incident. Those found culpable will also be arraigned in court.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Rabiu psc mni, assures the public that the Command is committed to securing justice for the victim and maintaining law and order across the State. He urges citizens to report criminal allegations and grievances through lawful channels rather than resorting to violence.

At least six farmers were reportedly murdered by suspected armed herdsmen when the attackers invaded Tse-Nyaku, Biliji, and other communities in Mbatian, Ukum Local Government area of Benue State.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that the attackers invaded Mbatian communities on Friday evening.
A source told this medium that many people were missing after the deadly attacks as search for the victims continues.
A survivor of the attack, Joseph Akem described the attack as bloody, “Blood is still flowing on the ground as I am talking to you. It was God if not I won’t be alive. Five or six dead bodies were recovered” he said.
Benue State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Peter Orchia Aondongu, said he was not aware of the incident but will get back, “I cannot confirm the incident for now because I am yet to be briefed”
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has rescued 15 minors allegedly trafficked and sold for N2m each by a suspected member of a human trafficking syndicate in Nasarawa State.
The NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi, disclosed this at a news briefing at the corps’ headquarters in Abuja on Friday.
Afolabi said the suspect allegedly posed as an official of the National Council of Child Rights Advocate and deceived the parents of the children into handing them over to him.
“Under the guise of operating an NGO and orphanage programme called the Back to School Project, he lured willing, less privileged parents into releasing their children with promises of free education,” Afolabi said.
No fewer than 20 persons have been killed and several others injured after gunmen attacked Binper community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attack, according to residents, occurred between midnight on Monday and the early hours of Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
An eyewitness, Daniel Musa said the attackers, who were heavily armed, moved from house to house, forcing their way into homes and attacking residents who were asleep.
He said: “Our village came under attack last night and in the early hours of today, Tuesday, by heavily armed persons.
“They were moving from house to house, opening the doors of people who were sleeping and slaughtering them.
“As of this morning, we have confirmed over 20 deaths, while several others sustained serious injuries and some people are still missing.”
